Mikey Doble claimed his first-ever victory in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship this weekend, delivering a flawless lights-to-flag performance in Race 3 at Snetterton. Driving the #88 Vauxhall Astra for Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing, Doble held off fierce and sustained pressure from multiple champion Ash Sutton to take an emotional and very well-earned first win.

Starting from pole position after a strong Race 2 finish and a favourable reverse grid draw, Doble showed composure beyond his years, managing the race perfectly under relentless scrutiny from Sutton. The result marks a major milestone in Doble’s BTCC career and highlights the competitive pace of both him and the Power Maxed Racing package.

It's as many as 1001 days since an Independent team has taken an overall race win in the BTCC. It's also the first for the Power Maxed Racing squad since Jason Plato won at Brands Hatch in the final race of 2019.

Mikey Doble said:

“It’s hard to put into words just how much this means. To take my first BTCC win – and to do it under pressure from someone I have so much respect for (Ash Sutton) – is just incredible. The car was hooked up from the first lap, and the team gave me the tools to manage the race from the front. Huge thanks to everyone at Motor Parts Direct for helping to make this possible. Then of course to all the incredible people that are Power Maxed Racing. The fans gave such amazing support; this is a day I’ll never forget.”

Adam Weaver, Team Principal of Power Maxed Racing, added:

“It’s been a long time coming, we all knew Mikey had the talent for this, and today he proved it to everyone watching. That was a truly mature drive, managing tyres, pace, and pressure from a champion-level driver. We’re absolutely delighted for him and proud to give Motor Parts Direct their first BTCC win with us. It’s a real statement of intent for the rest of the season. Finally, I’d like to thank every person and company that has contributed to this, the messages and comments received so far, show just how much it means, to so many people”

The victory also represents a significant moment for Motor Parts Direct, who joined as a title partner for 2025 and now celebrate their first win in the UK’s premier touring car series.

Elsewhere in the Power Maxed Racing camp, Nick Halstead continued to make solid progress throughout the day. After a challenging qualifying session, Halstead showed determination and consistency across all three races, gaining valuable experience and bringing the car home cleanly in every outing. His performance demonstrated steady development and a growing confidence behind the wheel.

Nick Halstead commented:

“It’s been a good day. That may not show in outright results, but there’s a lot of positives to take away. We made real progress with the car setup and race pace, and every lap I’m learning more. Massive congratulations to Mikey and the whole team—seeing the car win shows the potential we’ve got. I’m looking forward to building on this in the next round.”

With confidence high and momentum building, all eyes will be on Doble and the Power Maxed Racing squad as the BTCC heads to the next round at Thruxton, the fastest track on the calendar, in just 2 weeks' time.
